Description
The City of Spokane is soliciting a prime/general contractor for a public works project to design as required, fabricate, deliver, install, test, and commission a new outdoor-rated 3-ton gantry crane at Upriver Dam. The crane includes two 1.5-ton motorized chain hoists, motorized hoist and bridge trolleys, gantry travel assemblies, electrical controls, a wireless pendant controller, safety and locking devices, wind-speed alarm equipment, and a gantry anchoring system. The City has already procured the hoists, which the contractor must remove from the existing crane, store safely, and reinstall on the replacement crane. The work also includes providing cranes, rigging, labor, temporary supports, electrical work, special inspections, quality-control documentation, field testing, commissioning, and recommended spare parts. The contractor must create removal, lift, installation, testing, and related procedures; remove and dispose of the existing gantry crane in compliance with applicable requirements, assuming coated surfaces may contain lead; protect the existing bridge deck and facilities; and coordinate work to maintain dam operations. The project documents require a five-percent bid bond, electronic submission through the City's ProcureWare portal, and compliance with specified insurance, licensing, welding, structural steel, crane-operation, and safety requirements.
