Description
The Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (RIDE) is seeking proposals from accredited higher education institutions to develop and implement an innovative School Psychologist Pipeline Program. The goal is to expand and diversify the workforce of qualified school psychologists, address current shortages, and strengthen mental and behavioral health supports across K-12 schools. The program aims to expand access to training pathways, reduce barriers to entry, create sustainable partnerships between higher education and K-12 systems, strengthen practicum and internship placement capacity, and create respecialization pathways for licensed psychologists. Proposals must include a comprehensive plan for recruitment and retention, including pipeline program design, recruitment strategies, and field experience development. The technical proposal is limited to six pages (excluding appendices and resumes) and must address program design, professional support, recruitment and selection, program evaluation, program costs, and program sustainability. A cost proposal with a detailed budget and budget narrative is also required. The evaluation will consider technical proposal (70 points), cost proposal (30 points), and ISBE participation (6 bonus points). Technical proposals must score at least 55 points to advance to cost evaluation.
