Description
The U.S. Navy is seeking capability information from eligible small businesses for a future design-build project to replace a school dormitory at Naval Station Great Lakes. The project would construct a multistory unaccompanied-housing facility with 308 two-person modules accommodating 616 E1–E4 students. The proposed facility would use concrete framing, masonry walls, a sloped metal roof, shallow foundations on strengthened soil, and community and service areas including laundry facilities, lounges, administrative offices, housekeeping areas, and public restrooms. The estimated project value is $100 million to $250 million. Respondents must provide contractor information, business-size and socioeconomic status, bonding capacity, and three to five relevant construction projects. Relevant projects must generally be whole-building, multistory construction completed within the preceding seven years, with a final construction cost of at least $50 million or at least 100,000 square feet; the submitted experience must collectively demonstrate design-build capability. Responses must use the attached Contractor Information Form and Project Information Form. This is a sources-sought market-research notice, not a solicitation or request for proposals, and no contract award is being made through this notice.
