The City of North Chicago is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for a master developer or development team to redevelop the 34-acre 'Sheridan Crossing' site. The long-vacant, highly visible property is located at the northwest corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Sheridan Road, directly adjacent to Naval Station Great Lakes. The City envisions a vibrant, mixed-use destination that may include hospitality, retail services, restaurants, entertainment, and potentially residential uses, capitalizing on proximity to large employers such as Rosalind Franklin University, AbbVie, and the Cpt. James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center. The selection process will be two-step: this RFQ followed by a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued to shortlisted teams. Responses are due September 18, 2026.
