Description
The Town of Shelburne is seeking qualified consultant teams to provide conceptual and preliminary design services for streetscape improvements and downtown beautification along Falls Road, the surrounding village core, and the Village Green. The team must be led by professionals in landscape architecture, urban design, or streetscape design, with civil and traffic engineering support as needed. The approximately 1.4-mile project area includes Upper Falls Road, Falls Road south of Church Street, the Village Green, the historic Parade Ground, and the Falls Road/Marsett Road intersection. The base contract includes existing-conditions assessment and mapping; accessibility review; utility, easement, and right-of-way analysis; VTrans coordination; at least two distinct design alternatives; intersection analysis; public workshops and stakeholder engagement; refinement of a preferred concept; CAD concept plans; materials and furnishings palettes; phasing recommendations; construction cost estimates; and support for a Vermont Downtown Transportation Fund application. Design elements include sidewalks and crossings, bicycle facilities, traffic calming, lighting, street trees, green infrastructure, furnishings, wayfinding, gateway treatment, parking, and public spaces. Final design, construction documents, bid-phase services, and construction administration are optional services to be procured separately. The Town has not established a design-services budget or construction-cost target.
