Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a total-small-business contractor to provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision necessary to remove existing cable and install approximately 700 feet of new 25-pair CAT 3 cable between the OIT Telecommunication Room in the basement of Building 3 and the basement of Building 6 at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System. The contractor must terminate all pairs at both ends, connecting to the existing 100-pair Building Entrance Protector in Building 3 and the existing 66-block in Building 6, using the existing duct bank and permitted confined-space underground access vaults. Firestopping must be removed as needed and properly restored. The engineering department will provide escorts, and the contractor will not have access to the VA network. The VA will inspect each component upon acceptance. Work must be performed Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., excluding federal holidays, and completed within 30 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. For long-lead items exceeding 21 calendar days, an administrative Notice to Proceed will be issued for material submittal, review, and approval. The requirement is all-or-nothing, and partial proposals are prohibited.
