Description
Athens-Clarke County is soliciting bids from responsible vendors to provide all materials, labor, tools, equipment, crane and rigging, trucking, electrical work, and incidentals required for the complete rehabilitation and replacement of a failing 900 HP US Vertical motor at the JG Beacham Water Treatment Plant. The contractor must remove the existing motor, transport it to an authorized repair facility, rehabilitate it for use as a spare, and supply and install a new motor in its place. The work includes wiring the new motor for 4160V service, installing and coupling it to the existing pump, setting the lift, checking rotation, verifying operation, and minimizing utility downtime. The contractor must also provide or obtain the operation and maintenance manual identified in Addendum II. The project has a defined seven-calendar-day completion requirement and an estimated cost of $200,000.
