Description
The Virginia Department of Corrections is soliciting a psychiatrist to provide up to 24 hours per week of psychiatric services for approximately 200 male inmates at Marion Correctional Treatment Center. Required services include psychiatric evaluations, follow-up recommendations, psychopharmacological treatment, medication monitoring, health-record documentation, consultation with facility medical and mental-health staff, involuntary commitment hearings and court-related activities as needed, and 24-hour emergency telephone consultation. Services may combine onsite work and telehealth, with onsite services preferred. The initial contract term is one year, with four successive one-year renewal options. The provider must maintain the required professional credentials, including an M.D. or D.O. degree, psychiatric residency training, Virginia medical licensure, board certification, DEA certification, NPI, and hospital-privilege verification. Proposals must include a service narrative, acceptance of contractual terms, required attachments and forms, curriculum vitae, at least four similar current or recent accounts with references, a small-business subcontracting plan, commute details, and Virginia State Corporation Commission registration information. A subcontractor or alternate psychiatrist may be proposed subject to prior approval.
