Mercer County's Department of Human Services, Office on Addiction Services, is accepting proposals for a County Innovation Grant funded by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The selected provider will provide a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) coordinator for Mercer County, including case management for individuals, assistance responding to MAT needs, treatment navigation, referrals, and coordination with external providers for warm handoffs and continuity of care. The coordinator is expected to develop and maintain relationships with MAT and Office Based Addiction Treatment providers, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, federally qualified health centers, opioid treatment programs, inpatient providers, emergency rooms, urgent care centers, and other local resources. Direct substance use disorder treatment is not required; agencies do not need to be independently licensed through the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services for outreach and coordination services. Vehicle purchases are not an allowable expense. The updated Q&A states that the service provision contract will run from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027, is not eligible for extension, and will be re-solicited annually. Funding is up to $168,588, contingent on funding availability.
