Description
The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking a caretaker management firm or individual to maintain and operate the Bad Route Rest Area on I-94 in Dawson County. The scope includes restroom cleaning at least three times daily, deep cleaning, plaza and picnic-area cleaning, litter and garbage removal, graffiti removal, public-telephone sanitation, and maintenance of the building interior and exterior. The contractor must also provide groundskeeping and minor facility maintenance, including mowing, edging, pruning, weed control, irrigation-system servicing, pedestrian snow and ice removal, fixture and plumbing maintenance, filter replacement, light-bulb installation, emergency response, incident reporting, and daily recordkeeping. The Department provides specified cleaning supplies, paper products, replacement fixtures, utilities, major repairs, and parking-lot snow removal. The initial service period is listed as October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2026, although the stated dates appear internally inconsistent; the purchase order may be extended in one-year increments for up to four additional years, subject to appropriations, with a maximum term of seven years.
