Description
The U.S. Air Force requires repair services for a 60-ton Grove TMS700E crane assigned to the 819th Red Horse Squadron. The work includes major drivetrain disassembly, repair of a hydraulic leak, replacement of a five-port hydraulic swivel manifold assembly, and replacement of wire rope, O-rings, a fill cap with breather, an element, lock pin, seal kit, slip ring assembly, and related materials. The crane must be restored to fully functional condition and certified in accordance with OEM specifications and Technical Order 36-1-191. Structural inspections by authorized Grove technicians are also required. Because the crane cannot be driven and the agency lacks a trailer large enough to move it, the contractor must transport it to and from the repair facility. The salient characteristics sheet identifies an estimated total of $53,565.41 for parts, labor, transportation, supplies, and related charges. The notice identifies MGX Equipment Services as the intended sole-source contractor and states that this is not a request for competitive offers, although responsible sources may submit written capability information, a proposal, or quotation demonstrating that competition would benefit the Government.
