Description
The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking consulting firms to provide as-needed general engineering services supporting MDT staff across transportation disciplines. Potential assignments include program management, technical and design review, preliminary engineering, environmental and geotechnical engineering, geometrics, traffic and safety, asset analysis, grant assistance, structural engineering, transportation studies, and surveying. Work may be performed at the project or program level, with schedules and deliverables negotiated separately for individual task assignments. MDT intends to award approximately four term contracts valued at about $500,000 each for an initial three-year period from January 2027 through December 2029, with extensions permitted at one-year intervals or other advantageous intervals, subject to a five-year maximum total term. Montana professional engineering licensure must be held when the proposal is submitted. The prime consultant is expected to perform the vast majority of the work and generally at least 50% of each task assignment. Proposals are limited to seven pages, excluding required appendices, and must address team qualifications, approach to task assignments, and supporting references. The required appendices include one-page resumes for key personnel, MDT's completed cover page form, and references for at least three similar contracts completed within the past three years. No DBE goal is established, although DBE participation is strongly encouraged.
