Description
The U.S. Forest Service's National Technology and Development Program is seeking a contractor to design, fabricate, and tool four injection molds for interchangeable corrosion-test components made from PEEK resin: a threaded rim-ring top, a pincher dipping shaft, a galvanic dipping shaft, and a crevice dipping shaft. The scope includes design collaboration, mold-development expertise, recommendations for mold or family-mold configurations, a first batch of 20 of each part for laboratory testing, production of estimated base and option-year quantities, and provision of a pricing schedule for minimum quantities or bulk discounts. The contractor must retain the molds for future production, share mold specifications and renderings, and provide all required line-item pricing. The anticipated award is a firm-fixed-price purchase order with one one-year base period and three one-year option periods. Quotes must include a signed SF-1449 with the vendor's UEI, a completed and signed Schedule of Items, a manufacturing pricing schedule, a list of similar projects completed within the past three years with references and contact information, and a technical proposal explaining how the requirements will be met. Work will be performed at the vendor's facility, with virtual coordination available; delivery is FOB destination to the Forest Service facility in Missoula, Montana.
