Description
This presolicitation notice announces a planned full-and-open Invitation for Bid for the Port of Nome Phase 2 dredging project; bids are not accepted in response to this notice. The work includes approximately 578,000 cubic yards of dredging to establish a new Deepwater Basin at a design depth of -40 feet MLLW, plus an option for approximately 346,000 cubic yards to expand the existing Outer Basin to -28 feet MLLW. Dredging will occur against newly constructed OpenCell sheet pile docks, with all dredged material placed in a designated nearshore area. Materials include sands, gravels, cobbles, boulders, and dense glacial till; heavy mechanical dredging is anticipated. The contractor will furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, materials, supervision, and related services. The anticipated contract is firm-fixed-price, with a 730-calendar-day period of performance and construction wage rates applicable. The estimated construction magnitude for the base and option items is $25 million to $100 million. The project is contingent on funding availability. The future solicitation is expected to be available on or after November 17, 2026, and electronic bids will be submitted through the PIEE Solicitation Module. Offerors must be registered in SAM.gov when submitting a bid and at award. Performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the award price will be required.
