Description
The County of Westchester is soliciting bids for the refurbishment of an existing tin baler located at the County Thruway Transfer Station in Yonkers, New York. The scope of work includes all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for a complete and operational refurbishment. This involves replacing hydraulic pumps, hoses, solenoids, the cooling fan motor, rewinding the main motor, replacing the electrical control panel, and installing a new PLC computer with a spare part. Additionally, all sensors and solenoids will be replaced, ram positioning controls will be upgraded to laser positioning sensors, hydraulic cylinders will be removed, rebuilt, and reinstalled, and the baler and associated components will be cleaned, prepared, and repainted. New decals and safety signage will also be furnished and installed. The work requires bidders to have at least one reference for a completed baler refurbishment or comparable solid waste processing equipment rehabilitation project for a municipal, governmental, or institutional customer. Bidders must also complete a site survey prior to submitting their bid and comply with New York State Department of Labor prevailing wage rates. The County reserves the right to require a performance bond up to 100% of the total bid price.
