Description
The City of Cambridge is soliciting sealed bids for fuel tank system improvements at its Department of Public Works, Cambridge Cemetery, and East Cambridge Fire House. Work includes reconstructing the DPW concrete fuel island; replacing DPW tank-top equipment; removing and replacing the cemetery's fuel tank and tank-top equipment; installing and replacing fuel dispensers, pumps, piping, leak-detection and fuel-management systems; removing underground storage tanks and contaminated materials; construction dewatering; electrical work; concrete and paving; and temporary fueling facilities. The plans also require temporary rental of two 5,000-gallon double-walled fuel tanks at the DPW site during construction, along with temporary lighting and continued fueling operations. The estimated project value is $1,504,791. Bidders must submit a completed general bid form, bid security, required Minority Business Enterprise forms, bidder qualifications, workforce and compliance certifications, and other forms identified in the project manual. The bid package requires at least three qualifying fuel-system projects within the last ten years, each valued at least $700,000, and a notarized bidder-qualification statement with references. Awardee obligations include 100-percent performance and payment bonds, insurance, prevailing-wage compliance, and a 203-day contract term beginning no later than seven days after the Notice to Proceed.
