Description
The U.S. Navy is conducting market research to identify domestic shipyards capable of serving as prime construction yards for the next-generation SSN(X) attack submarine program. The anticipated capability includes complete hull fabrication, modular outfitting, precision systems integration, reactor compartment installation, post-delivery testing, and specialized acoustic treatment installation. Respondents must demonstrate substantial nuclear-submarine industrial infrastructure, including certified graving or floating drydocks, heavy module fabrication shops, gantry crane systems, qualified shipbuilding design personnel, quality management systems, nondestructive testing capabilities, and certified welding procedures for submarine-grade steels and advanced non-ferrous alloys. Interested vendors must complete the attached assessment and submit it electronically through DoD SAFE; the notice is for market research only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to award a contract.
