The University of Tennessee Knoxville is soliciting qualifications from licensed Tennessee general contractors under a Best Value Option One process for construction services at the Wayne G. Basler Boathouse. The project includes limited demolition and fabrication and installation of an approximately 100-foot gangway with handrails and a lockable swing gate, a 20-by-20-foot landing area, approximately 300 linear feet of boat dock, a 25-foot transition gangway, approximately 50 linear feet of low-profile rowing dock, and permanent mooring. Additional work includes installation of up to eighteen 12-inch steel mooring piles, dock lighting and electrical work, and a non-potable boat/dock washdown system. Materials include galvanized steel or marine-grade aluminum structural members, stainless-steel hardware, concrete or composite decking, and polyethylene-encapsulated foam flotation. The estimated construction cost is $1,150,000. The technical proposal must be submitted as one searchable PDF no larger than 20 MB, may not exceed 25 pages excluding covers, and may not include pricing. Proposers must address mandatory qualifications, similar project experience, key personnel, references, technical approach, waterfront structural installation experience, sustainability experience, and subcontractor qualifications where applicable.
