Description
The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration is conducting a Request for Information and Sources Sought for an interactive, virtual liquefied natural gas training platform. The envisioned platform would support virtual LNG facility walkdowns, review of piping and instrumentation diagrams, visualization of process flows through valves, vessels, pumps, compressors, and other critical machinery, and simulation of operational and safety-inspection scenarios. Respondents are asked to describe their experience with high-fidelity 3D simulations and digital twins for industrial facilities; recommended hardware, software, cloud, and deployment models; interactive training and branching-scenario capabilities; approaches for mapping regulatory requirements such as 49 CFR Part 193 into curriculum; cybersecurity and controlled unclassified information considerations; licensing and data-rights models; and the extent to which commercial off-the-shelf components can be used. Responses should include company and administrative information, up to three recent similar projects, and a non-binding development timeline and pricing-model discussion. Technical responses are limited to 20 pages, excluding company brochures and supplemental past-performance material. This is a market-research request and not a solicitation for proposals or a promise of a future contract.
