Description
The U.S. Department of Transportation intends to award a sole-source contract to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority for its SmartBenefits/transit benefits program. The requirement covers purchasing and distributing transit fare media for federal employees in the Washington, D.C., area and providing timely, efficient transit benefit services to more than 200,000 customers. The notice states that no solicitation will be issued because the contract vehicle will be issued to the authorized local transit authority through Economy Act agreements and the Administrative Working Capital Fund. Other interested parties may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation for agency consideration, but the notice identifies WMATA as the intended sole-source awardee.
