Description
The Kankakee Valley Airport Authority is soliciting sealed bids for replacement of the upper roof at the flight school. The work includes removing the existing roof system to the deck; installing two layers of polyisocyanurate insulation achieving an R-value of 30; flashing penetrations; installing perimeter wood nailers; raising curbs and pipe penetrations as needed for the manufacturer's full-system warranty; installing prefinished 24-gauge roof-edge metals, gutters, and downspouts; and removing roofing debris from the jobsite. The contractor must provide the manufacturer's 20-year no-dollar-limit full-system warranty and a two-year workmanship guarantee. Bidders must participate in a State of Illinois-recognized union apprenticeship program, provide proof of prevailing-wage compliance, and submit a bid bond equal to 10% of the bid from an owner-approved surety licensed in Illinois.
