Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contractor to treat approximately 86 acres of woody invasive species at the Brice Prairie Management Unit within the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. Target species include Siberian elm, white mulberry, bush honeysuckle, cottonwood, wild plum, and green ash; native species, including leadplant and bur oak trees, must be avoided. Work may involve ATV/UTV access and must include mapping the treated area and documenting the herbicide formulation and quantity used. The contractor must use an approved basal-bark treatment containing triclopyr butoxyethyl ester, either alone or tank-mixed with imazapyr, with refuge approval of formulations and mixing rates before application. Quotes must include total estimated price, price validity period, proposed herbicide brand or equivalent, firm information, and technical information sufficient to demonstrate methods, equipment, staffing, safety procedures, required licenses/certifications/training, and compliance with the Statement of Work. The solicitation requires three examples of successful, timely completion of similar work.
