Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is requesting a firm-fixed-price quote for mowing approximately 33.2 miles of roads and trails at the Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge on Hawaii Island. The work includes mowing drivable surfaces and shoulders up to 20 feet wide, reducing vegetation to less than 6 inches, and leaving no vegetation material on site. Vegetation may include grass, brush, and saplings; terrain may contain uneven ground, boulders, holes, and unimproved roads requiring four-wheel-drive access. The contractor must clean and provide equipment for government inspection before entering the refuge, coordinate access at least 72 hours in advance, protect wildlife and habitat, manage locked-gate access, and comply with weather and fire-safety restrictions. Quotes must include a completed and signed SF 1449, signed amendments if issued, company information and UEI, a technical capabilities and approach narrative, and detailed pricing. The work must be completed by September 30, 2026.
