Description
Napa Communities Firewise Foundation is soliciting bids for two related Highway 29 projects: hazardous fuel removal and hazardous tree removal. Fuel-removal bidders may bid on either a full treatment area of approximately 363 acres extending 150 feet from the road centerline or an approximately 200-acre area extending 95 feet from the edge of asphalt, along 8.7 miles of highway. Tree-removal bidders may bid on all 366 marked trees or a package covering 75% of the marked trees, with all identified trees in the Caltrans right-of-way treated under either package. The work includes vegetation and fuel reduction, treatment or removal of dead and hazardous trees, chipping or hauling and disposal of debris, erosion-control measures, environmental compliance, and traffic-control planning. Bids must address the required treatment standards, disposal plan, specialized equipment, staffing, qualifications, licenses, insurance, prevailing-wage compliance, Caltrans encroachment-permit coordination, and completion by March 31, 2027. Bidders must attend and sign in at the mandatory bid walk, submit a completed bid or rate sheet, provide a signed W-9, proof of required insurance, evidence that Caltrans will issue an acceptable permit, and references for two successfully completed Caltrans projects within the past five years.
