Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a contractor for construction services to modify the condenser-water piping system at the Wilmington VA Healthcare System. The work includes site investigation; freezing the condenser-water piping; furnishing and installing two 10-inch butterfly valves and two 10-inch vertical check valves; opening and inspecting Pump No. 2; reinstalling the pump casing; and starting, testing, and balancing both condenser-water pumps. Work must be coordinated to minimize interference with hospital operations and may be performed during off-hours or on Saturdays. The contractor must provide all labor, transportation, materials, equipment, and supervision. Requirements also include construction phasing and coordination with hospital staff, construction waste management, submittals tracked on an Excel spreadsheet, before/during/after photographs, OSHA safety training documentation, security and badging compliance, and certified third-party testing and balancing for vibration and alignment. The procurement is a firm-fixed-price construction contract with completion required 30 days after notice to proceed. The project magnitude is between $25,000 and $100,000 and is restricted to service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.
