Description
The City of Webster Groves is soliciting turnkey proposals for a grid-tied photovoltaic solar system on the south roof of an ice arena. The selected contractor must perform structural and electrical engineering, permitting, utility interconnection and net-metering work, and provide and install Tier 1 solar panels, inverters, and non-penetrating or engineered non-leaking roof attachments for the approximately 19,000-square-foot standing-seam metal roof. The work includes commissioning, utility inspection sign-off, delivery of Permission to Operate, and installation of a web-based real-time production monitoring system. The contractor must also evaluate and integrate the new system with an existing approximately 900-square-foot water park solar array, including interconnection and metering, monitoring consolidation, and any required maintenance, upgrades, or reconfiguration. Proposals must include company background and qualifications, licensing and insurance proof, three similar commercial metal-roof project references, proposed equipment and mounting method, estimated annual energy generation for both sites, and an estimated schedule through commissioning. A completed bid form and bidder's declaration are required. The contractor must have at least five years of commercial solar installation experience. A 100% performance bond is required upon award, and subcontractors require prior City approval.
