Description
The Borough of Penns Grove is soliciting sealed bids for interior clean-out and possible separate asbestos flooring abatement at its approximately 7,000-square-foot building. Component A may be awarded independently of the asbestos component, and non-asbestos clean-out must be completed first. The clean-out scope includes removal of all building contents, suspended ceilings, overhead ductwork, refrigerators, freezers, refrigerant-containing units, fixtures, equipment, flooring, and debris; dumpsters may be placed on site, and the contractor is responsible for disposal arrangements. Structural walls and exterior entry and exit doors must remain. The asbestos component requires bidders to assume all flooring contains asbestos and to perform the associated removal and disposal. The contractor is responsible for safe entry and exit, disposal requirements, applicable public-works and prevailing-wage compliance, and performance security due with the bid package. The Borough will handle construction permits and municipal fees. Payment is made after final completion, with standard invoicing and inspection, no retainage, and payment within 30 days. The project is anticipated to occur in 2026, and schedule extensions may be available for delays. Total awarded work may not exceed $100,000.
