Description
The City of Los Angeles is soliciting bids from only five contractors on its Emergency Pre-Qualified On-Call Geotechnical/Structural Contract Services list. The project provides emergency erosion-control mitigation to protect and repair storm-damaged streets and rights-of-way. Work includes removing and replacing deteriorated sandbags; removing damaged asphalt concrete paving and berms; installing new asphalt paving and berms; constructing a pipe-and-board structure and metal beam guard rail; and hauling away soil, rock, weathered bedrock, and construction and vegetative debris. The city engineer's estimate is $303,430. Contract work must be completed within 42 calendar days after the notice to proceed. The project/contract will remain open through the summer and beyond to address additional storm damage or emergencies. A bid bond is not required, but the successful bidder must provide payment and performance bonds, each for at least 100 percent of the task bid price.
