Description
Kodiak Island Borough is seeking a qualified individual or firm to provide non-lethal bear management services at its landfill. The contractor must provide on-site coverage from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday and continuously on Sundays, including landfill patrols, bear-activity monitoring, non-lethal deterrence, response procedures, and required documentation under the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation Bear Management Plan. The selected contractor must obtain and maintain required state permits and licenses, including any applicable bear-management certification or licensed-guide credentials, and help ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. Proposals must include qualifications, methodology, personnel credentials and resumes, relevant experience, subcontractor information, references, and a separately marked price proposal. The contract is time-and-materials based, with a 60-day initial term and an option for month-to-month extensions for up to one year from the contract start.
