Description
Ashe County is soliciting sealed bids for construction of a perimeter fence at Ashe County Airport. The work includes installation of 10-foot chain-link fencing and a wildlife fence skirt, swing gates, minor grading, erosion and sediment control measures, and clearing and grubbing. Bidders must hold the applicable North Carolina contractor's license and be listed and prequalified by the North Carolina Department of Transportation for the relevant work codes, including clearing and grubbing, fence installation, temporary silt fence, and seeding and mulching. The prime contractor must be prequalified as a prime bidder, and subcontractors must be licensed and prequalified for their respective scopes. A bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid is required, along with 100% performance and payment bonds. The maximum construction time is 210 consecutive calendar days, and liquidated damages are $1,000 per day for late completion. No DBE, MBE, or WBE contract goal is required.
