Catawba County seeks a qualified consulting firm to support the planned merger of Catawba County Schools, Hickory City Schools, and Newton-Conover City Schools into a unified Catawba Valley Schools system, contingent on approval by the North Carolina State Board of Education. The selected firm will work under the direction of the Catawba Valley Board of Education and Catawba County to develop and execute a comprehensive merger implementation strategy. Services include project initiation and transition assessment; project management and implementation coordination; stakeholder facilitation; organizational, workforce, financial, policy, technology, facilities, and operational integration; communications and community engagement; change and risk management; implementation-readiness assessment; and post-merger stabilization. Required deliverables include an implementation plan, master schedule, stakeholder engagement and communications plans, risk and issue register, integration recommendations, transition plans, status reports, and a final merger implementation report. Proposals will be evaluated on approach, methodology, experience, stakeholder engagement, cost, and past performance.
