Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, is seeking a small-business contractor for the complete replacement of the structural standing seam metal roof on the Mosquito Lake Control Tower. Work includes demolition and disposal of the existing roof, box gutter, scuppers, and lightning protection system; refurbishment or replacement of corroded light-gauge metal sub-framing; repair, sealing, and flood testing of the concrete roof slab; installation of closed-cell spray polyurethane foam insulation achieving R-30; and design, furnishing, and installation of a 22-gauge structural standing seam metal roof with a 70% PVDF finish, ridge and fascia ventilation, and a custom ventilated peak cap. The contractor must reroute vent and exhaust pipes, install a new gutter system, and provide a certified non-penetrating lightning protection system. The work requires compliance with EM 385-1-1, a full-time Level 1 Site Safety and Health Officer during active work, and submission of a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan, Activity Hazard Analyses, Fall Protection Plan, Lift Plan, Quality Control Plan, shop drawings, and product data. The roofing-system manufacturer must have at least 10 years of experience, and the certified applicator must have at least five years of relevant experience. This is a firm-fixed-price construction contract with an estimated value of $150,000 to $350,000 and a 365-calendar-day performance period after written Notice to Proceed. Quotes will be evaluated on price and past performance.
