Description
Sarasota County is soliciting bids from qualified commercial operators to provide charter fishing and guided excursion services from designated County parks and water-access facilities. Operators bid an annual permit fee for specific park locations in the North and South County zones; awards are based on the highest responsive bid for each location, subject to location capacities and a limit of two permits per company per zone. The minimum annual bid is $1,200 per permit, and the anticipated initial term is three years. Permit holders must maintain applicable vessel registration, Coast Guard credentials and safety examination, required fishing licenses, business registration, and participation in a drug consortium program. The scope also includes operating and safety requirements, vessel approval and substitution rules, customer and trip records, and insurance requirements, including marine protection and indemnity coverage and workers’ compensation. Bidders must provide at least two references demonstrating relevant charter fishing or guided-tour experience within the preceding five years.
