This Sources Sought notice seeks capability statements from qualified 8(a) small businesses for an anticipated competitive set-aside covering Range and Operations Support (RAOS) services. The requirement includes maintaining and operating materials-testing laboratories, indoor ballistic and explosive test ranges, fire training and test facilities, and other test ranges in support of Air Force research, development, test, and evaluation activities. The anticipated work requires qualified personnel for explosive ordnance disposal and range safety, video-photography, instrumentation, fire research, electronics, and optional instrumentation engineering. Duties include explosive and ballistic test planning and execution, range safety and explosives management, high-speed video and photographic data capture, sensor and data-acquisition setup and analysis, firefighting and hazardous-materials response, equipment maintenance and calibration, technical reporting, facility and grounds support, emergency and crisis operations, and travel to off-site test ranges. The PWS states that classified work may require Secret clearances and that personnel performing the work will generally support on-site operations, with some telework permitted for tasks that can be performed remotely.
