Description
The U.S. Navy is seeking a contractor to process 10 pole caps. The work includes removing the existing cadmium plating, machining the bottom side flat within 0.005 inches while maintaining a minimum thickness of 0.595 inches, and re-plating each pole cap in accordance with ASTM B633, Type VI, Class 3. The contractor must perform the work at its authorized facility, manage government-furnished property, and return the completed pole caps and any unused or unacceptable materials to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Quotes must include a completed quotation form, firm-fixed pricing for the machining, replating, and return freight, applicable technical procedures and information, commercial labor-rate and price-source information where applicable, and a proposed schedule. The solicitation requests two recent and relevant project or contract examples involving comparable precision machining, cadmium plating removal, or electroplating work; each example must include customer and contact information, contract or project details, period of performance, dollar value, and a relevance narrative. The technical proposal must address the technical approach, quality control, logistics and material handling, and proposed schedule.
