Description
The United States Navy, through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Mechanicsburg, is soliciting a 1-inch NPS, 1,500-PSI restrictor unit conforming to MS18301, MS18301-17 Style B, and MS18301-13. The item is designated as Special Emphasis material (Level I) for use in a crucial shipboard system. Requirements include quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis for the ASTM-A240 Type 304 orifice plate, intergranular corrosion testing under ASTM-A262 Practice E, applicable nondestructive testing, and qualified welding or brazing procedures when those processes are used. The contractor must maintain an approved quality system under ISO 9001 with calibration controls under ISO 10012 or ANSI/NCSL Z540.3 and ISO/IEC 17025; MIL-I-45208 with MIL-STD-45662 is an acceptable alternative. The contractor must provide extensive traceability, inspection, test, material, and Special Emphasis certificates, including certification data submitted through WAWF for Portsmouth Naval Shipyard review and acceptance before each shipment. Only sources with an acceptable Quality Control Manual are eligible for award, and NAVSUP WSS Mechanicsburg will consider past performance in evaluating offers. Final delivery is due within 365 days after the effective date of the resulting contract, with certification data due 20 days before scheduled delivery. This is a total small business set-aside.
