Gunnison County, Colorado is seeking a qualified contractor to provide a comprehensive driver's education and graduated driver's license program in collaboration with the Gunnison Watershed School District. The program aims to reduce impaired driving and traffic-related morbidity among youth under 18, supporting the GCSAPP Coalition's strategic goals. The contractor will deliver four Colorado-approved 30-hour driver education courses annually, with two courses during the academic school year and two during the summer, offered in both Gunnison and Crested Butte. The curriculum must meet all Colorado Department of Revenue and state requirements. Additionally, the contractor will provide behind-the-wheel instruction, including six hours for students seeking licensure before age 16 and a half, with additional instruction available as requested by families. The contractor will manage student registration, scheduling, maintain records, provide certificates of completion, and coordinate course dates and locations. The contract term is one year with possible renewal based on performance and funding. The contractor must be licensed and in good standing with the State of Colorado, meet all requirements for commercial driving schools and instructors, and have experience working with adolescents. Proposals should include background and qualifications, evidence of licensure, a proposed course schedule, a plan for behind-the-wheel instruction, insurance documentation, and a budget.
