Description
Lee's Summit R-7 School District is soliciting proposals to establish multiple contracts for charter bus services throughout the district. The scope includes full-size suburban or intercity coaches, mini-coaches, and vans, with required vehicle capacities, passenger amenities, heating and air conditioning, communications equipment, accessibility provisions, and vehicles no more than six years old. Contractors must provide qualified drivers with appropriate commercial driver's licenses, medical certifications, specialized and customer-relations training, background checks, and compliance with applicable federal, state, Department of Transportation, and district requirements. The contractor will provide transportation for local, one-way, round-trip, overnight, and long-distance trips, including sample trips to Jefferson City, Jackson Hole, and St. Louis. Proposals must address fleet information, vehicle condition and amenities, safety and emergency procedures, reservations, cancellation fees, fuel surcharges, pricing, key personnel, references, and experience with comparable school district or governmental transportation services. Subcontracting requires prior written district approval. The contract may be renewed for up to three additional one-year periods, with services expected to begin after December 16, 2026.
