Legal Notice # 21944989 Notice to Bidders Bid No: B26-007 Bid Description: School Bus Services for the College's STEP and Other Programs Advertisement Date: September 18, 2026 Bid Opening Date and Time: October 14, 2026, at 12:00 PM Bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bid Submission Instructions defined in the bid document. Late bids will not be accepted. Bids will be opened at the bid opening date and time. Further information regarding the bid opening process can be found in the bid document. Bid documents can be accessed by visiting the Empire State Purchasing Group website at bidnetdirect.com/new-york/sunysuffolk, and clicking on the link to complete your registration. Once registered, firms can then access the bid documents. If you are already registered as a vendor on this system, you do not need to register again. Bids must be made upon and in accordance with the forms and documents provided by the college, which will contain accompanying instructions to bidders.

Suffolk County Community College is seeking a qualified contractor to provide as-needed school bus transportation for its Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP), Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP), Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), and other college trips and special events. The contractor must provide appropriately trained and licensed drivers and a sufficient fleet, including 48-passenger school buses for STEP programming, and must accommodate local transportation needs, summer service, short-notice requests, specified routes and schedules, trip estimates, and trip logs. STEP service may require up to five buses for recurring Saturday sessions, with additional field trips to Long Island and New York City; LPP and CSTEP are expected to require additional annual field trips. The contract has an initial one-year term with four optional one-year renewals and an estimated maximum five-year contract value of $200,000. Bidders must submit evidence of at least five years of relevant continuous experience, fleet size and maintenance history, a roster of trained and licensed drivers, three references, pricing, and the listed bid forms and certifications. The solicitation requires sealed physical bids and includes insurance, licensing, legal-compliance, and local-business provisions.
