Description
The Montana Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the demolition and removal of two structures at 1207 Johnson Lane in Billings: a two-story house with a basement and a pole-frame garage. The work includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, permits, licenses, fees, and incidentals; removing structures, foundations, slabs, concrete, asphalt, debris, and combustible materials; hauling and legally disposing of waste; disconnecting, capping, and abandoning specified water wells; pumping and disposing of the septic system; and verifying utility disconnections. After demolition, the contractor must fill, grade, and contour open holes and foundations, place and compact suitable backfill, add at least four inches of plant-supporting soil, and hydroseed the entire demolition area with seed suitable for the Lockwood area and drought conditions. The work is subject to applicable codes, environmental requirements, prevailing wages, traffic control, site-safety measures, and asbestos-related requirements, including submission of a NESHAP notification permit before demolition. Demolition and site clearing must be completed by April 30, 2027, and hydroseeding by May 31, 2027, subject to the stated extension provision.
