Description
The City of University City is soliciting sealed bids for a tree planting project involving 39 specified trees at locations along Pershing Avenue and nearby streets. The work includes furnishing and planting three-inch-caliper or 12- to 20-foot balled-and-burlapped trees, removing portions of wire baskets and burlap, staking trees with wooden stakes, obtaining an Arborist Permit, and using a Certified Arborist on the job site. The contractor must water the trees weekly for one year and provide a one-year warranty, including replacement of dead or defective plant material. Bidders must submit the completed bid proposal and required supporting forms, a bid security equal to at least five percent of the base bid plus the greatest alternate, and documentation including subcontractor information, insurance information, surety rating, equal-opportunity compliance, contractor qualifications, and work-authorization certification. The selected contractor must provide 100-percent performance and payment bonds and insurance naming the City as an additional insured.
