Description
The City of Lawrence is soliciting bids for replacement of traffic signal cabinets at two intersections: 6th Street and Folks Road, and 6th Street and Monterey Way. The work includes furnishing and installing new controller and power-supply cabinets, foundations, conduits, power pedestals, controllers, conflict monitors, load switches, flash transfer relays, emergency-vehicle preemption equipment, battery backup systems, Ethernet switches, wiring, fiber-optic coordination, and related equipment. The contractor must remove the existing cabinets and foundations, reroute and connect cabinet wiring, install gator patches, coordinate power removal and fiber splicing, and restore disturbed areas. The project also requires traffic control, permits, shop drawings and compliance submittals, testing, coordination with utilities and the City, as-built plans, and final inspection. Bids must include the completed proposal section, applicable addenda acknowledgments, and an electronic bid bond of at least 5% of the bid amount. Substantial and final completion are required by May 31, 2027; the anticipated start date is March 31, 2027.
