The Administration for Children and Families' Office of Family Violence Prevention and Services is soliciting applications for 60 cooperative agreement demonstration projects serving abused parents and children or youth exposed to family, domestic, or dating violence. Required activities include direct counseling, advocacy, developmentally appropriate services, support for non-abusing parents, parent-child services, community-based outreach, and residential or non-residential interventions. Projects must address safety, confidentiality, resilience, accessibility, cultural and linguistic appropriateness, peer support, prevention, workforce capacity, and coordination with community and public-service partners. Applicants must propose implementation, training, evaluation, reporting, sustainability, dissemination, and data-protection plans. The expected award is $300,000 to $350,000 for a two-year project period with two one-year budget periods; an additional continuation period of up to two years may be approved. Eligible applicants include qualifying public or private higher-education institutions, nonprofit organizations, local agencies, and tribal organizations with a demonstrated record of serving victims and their children. Construction, real-property purchases, major renovation, and pre-award costs are prohibited.
