Description
The Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority is soliciting bids for Phase I improvements to the Marathon highway crossings project at U.S. 1/SR-5/Overseas Highway and 37th Street in Marathon. The work includes approximately 270 linear feet of new 8-inch, 6-inch, and 2-inch underground water mains using C900 PVC, DR-11 HDPE, and Schedule 80 PVC; ductile iron fittings and appurtenances; tapping sleeves and gate valves; connections to existing 6-inch and 12-inch water mains; testing, disinfection, and commissioning; and removal or abandonment of existing water mains. Ancillary work includes horizontal directional drilling, excavation, dewatering, trenching, temporary traffic control, environmental and tree protection, maintenance of access, pavement and pavement-marking restoration, sod and clear-area restoration, and restoration of temporary construction easements. Bidders must submit a qualification statement, organizational and equipment information, similar-project experience and references, the prescribed proposal, bid security, and other required certifications and attachments through the e-Builder Bid Portal. The project requires a 5% bid bond or permitted equivalent, and the successful bidder must provide performance and payment bonds, insurance, and at least 60% self-performance of the work.
