Description
Florida Keys Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. is soliciting a not-to-exceed proposal to replace insulators and reframe poles on an existing 11-mile segment of 138 kV Transmission Line #5 between Tavernier and Islamorada. The segment includes 179 poles, and the work must be performed while the line remains energized. The bid package includes specifications, a pole schedule, assemblies, vendor cut sheets, a KMZ file, dampener information, and terms and conditions. The contractor must provide the labor, equipment, supervision, project management, energized-work methods, temporary materials, traffic-control planning, permits and notifications, and installation of FKEC-provided permanent materials. Scope includes insulator removal and installation, pole reframing, field drilling and coating of steel poles, removal of steel shavings, treatment of abandoned holes, installation of dampers, and possible conductor splicing at separately priced rates. Proposals must include a work plan, schedule, deliverables, detailed not-to-exceed cost proposal, references for at least three similar projects completed within the past five years, personnel information, subcontractor disclosures, traffic-control methods, and required certifications and forms. The anticipated completion date is December 31, 2027.
