Description
The Defiance County Board of Commissioners and Village of Sherwood are soliciting bids for demolition of the structures at 114 and 116–120 N. Harrison Street in Sherwood, Ohio. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, and services necessary to complete the demolition, removal, cleanup, and related site work. The project must be completed by December 1, 2026, and carries liquidated damages of $250 per calendar day for late completion. The engineer’s estimate is $85,000, with up to $85,000 funded through the Federal Community Development Block Grant program. The project is subject to Davis–Bacon wage rates, federal labor standards, affirmative-action and equal-employment requirements, Section 3 requirements, and Build America, Buy America requirements. Bidders must submit the prescribed bid forms, a 100% bid bond, surety documentation, power of attorney for the bond signer, certificate of liability insurance, required affidavits and certifications, and experience information. The successful contractor must provide 100% payment and performance bonds and insurance before contract execution and issuance of the notice to proceed.
