Description
The City of Montgomery is soliciting sealed bids for the construction and installation of 36 wayfinding signs throughout Downtown Montgomery. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, services, and equipment; constructing drilled pier foundations; installing pedestrian and vehicular signs; and completing all associated site improvements in accordance with the 2026 Alabama Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction. The estimated cost range is $400,000 to $500,000. Bidders must submit an E-Verify affidavit and memorandum of understanding, acknowledge the city's 30% minimum participation goal for disadvantaged, minority-owned, and women-owned business enterprises, provide evidence of a general contractor license for work valued at $100,000 or more, and include either a certified check or bid bond of at least 5% of the estimated cost or bid, capped at $50,000. The successful bidder must provide workers' compensation, public liability, and, when applicable, contractor's contingent liability insurance, as well as performance and payment bonds. A pre-bid conference is highly recommended but not mandatory.
