Description
The University of North Dakota is soliciting an all-or-none bid for snow and ice removal at the O'Connel/Biolife Properties, including Aerospace Foundation parking lots, sidewalks, and building entrances. The contractor must clear snow and ice, apply sand, ice-melt, and brine mixtures to sidewalks, shovel entrances, maintain access during major storms, keep fire hydrants clear, and place snow at designated pile locations. Work generally must be completed by 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, with additional plowing as directed during and after normal business hours. The contractor must provide the required equipment, attachments, labor, supplies, and repairs for damage caused by its equipment; UND will sand UND-owned parking lots. Bidders must have at least five years of snow-removal experience and submit three references with company names, addresses, contact names, and phone or email information. Pricing must provide hourly rates for sidewalk clearing, parking-lot clearing, and entrance/sidewalk shoveling, along with the equipment to be used. The resulting contract has a one-year initial term, with up to nine additional 12-month renewal options. Required insurance includes commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers' compensation, and employer's liability coverage.
