Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business to provide professional virtual pharmacy services for VISN 7 medical centers and remote clinics in Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. The contractor must remotely process and verify approximately 120,000 to 150,000 pending outpatient prescriptions per month, including clinical screening for allergies, drug interactions, contraindications, appropriate dosage and directions, formulary status, and disposition to centralized mail-out or local mail pharmacies. The contractor must provide at least six qualified, U.S.-citizen pharmacists with current unrestricted U.S. pharmacy licenses, recent VA VistA and CPRS outpatient prescription-processing experience, and knowledge of the VA formulary. The contractor must provide its own computers, telecommunications equipment, supplies, supervision, and secure web-based system. Work is performed remotely, with required compliance with VA information-security, privacy, HIPAA, background-investigation, training, and system-access requirements. The procurement contemplates a single-award, firm-fixed-price, five-year IDIQ contract with five one-year pricing periods and a possible six-month extension.
