Description
The University of Minnesota is soliciting proposals for design services to perform acoustic upgrades within Ferguson Hall, located on the west bank of the Twin Cities campus. This project includes enhancing the acoustic performance and isolation of Room 215 (electronic music laboratory and classroom) and its adjacent control/editing rooms. An alternate design is also requested for new music production studios in the existing Computer Lab (Room 259). The scope of work includes schematic design, design development, construction documents, and procurement/construction administration. Key considerations include improving sound isolation from adjacent spaces, updating acoustic treatments and finishes, and creating a more functional and flexible space. The project also requires coordination with a concurrent fire suppression system design and construction project. Respondents are encouraged to review the attached Request for Proposal documents for detailed project requirements and specifications. The estimated construction cost for the primary project is $500,000.
